Sun is about to set again on the Apulian plains, where a gentle sea breeze brings relief from the heat. After putting down their work tools, fifteen friends gather around a small TV screen to watch a World Cup football final which would make history: Italy vs. Germany. So many memories related to Germany, a country still divided in two by the wall and where many of them had worked for years to support their families. Only until the motherland’s call prevailed, so they all returned to Puglia. After a couple of Primitivo glasses, one of them decides to make a bet: “If Italy wins, we should create something altogether”. And Italy won! So the friends started wondering what they could do as they were staring at their empty wine glasses. While looking at a couple of wine drops left at the bottom of his glass, one of them had a brilliant idea. “Let’s make our wine!” he proposed. “And instead of selling the harvested grapes, we should use them to produce a wine, capable of narrating our land’s story” he continued. The rest of the group was enthusiastic about his idea and ready to collaborate for its transformation into reality. So they filled up their glasses and proposed a toast: “To a new beginning!” Bottle by bottle the founded company grew and to this day it is still managed by them and their relatives.

This is how AGRICOLA SCA is born: a story of hard work, Apulian territory, and dreams.
